An Indian education? – The Hindu: Mobile Edition.
This is an interesting write up that creates a lot of FUD (fear, uncertainty and death) on Indian education. I would not want my boss to see this FUD and get a wrong impression.
Although, I am not living in the bubble, generalizing ‘Indian’ education for what she noticed in ONE college for one specialization is like stereotyping about men/women/ race. Or it is at best racist article and at worst mirror of one person’s perception, which may or may not be true.
Also, on the contrary we are trying to compare apples and oranges here. A good undergrad in the US for the local job market space would cost up to $200,000 and on an average an undergrad would graduate with a $100,000 in loan and would take 10+ years to repay. While we are looking at $400 to $900 fee for 3-4 years of education and graduating with almost no debt in India.
Indian education may not appear in the top 100 universities in the world, but no employer in any part of the world blocks any graduate from India. Also Silicon Valley’s some of the best entrepreneurs and business leaders have all graduated from India.
